SS2009-in the fall of 1913 the russian artist kazimir malevitj painted his first black square in an art work. Despite the simple title, »black square«, it marked a bold change of his artistic direction and with it he invented a new art form — suprematism.
Suprematism is recognised on its non figurative art built on a few geometrical elements and bright primary colours . The black square is essential , and in Malevit j’s universe the one element that ties different dimensions togheter . The new art form emerged from the Concrete Art movement , which in its 1930 Concrete Art Manifest states that : »There is nothing more concrete or more real than a line , a colour , or a flat area of colour . Therefor the artists can feel free in this modern art .« The aim was to get rid of symbolic elements and visualisation. 95 years later Blank lets the the work of Malevit j and the concrete art movement inspire the Spring Summer 09 Col – lection .
